Assetto corsa mobile12/16/2023 ![]() ![]() If for example you compare the old escort on WRC with the RS1600 on Assetto Corsa, that thing is amazing fun on AC, it slides so naturally. or since we're wishing for things, both!! I would like to see this addressed either with a more progressive tyre model regarding the transition between grip and sliding - especially for the older cars, it feels like they have completely unsuitable tyres on - or for the default set-ups to be changed so it feels much more natural out of the box. It feels like underlying physics of the tyre model, like all cars have very peaky sticky tyres. It may not be the case, but the feeling is very much like the (rear tyre) slip angle vs grip model has a very steep decline after the peak, so as soon as you are past this point, there is just way too little grip, and it is very sudden, and then conversely, when you correct and bring the rear slip angle back down, the grip shoots back up again, like the red line in the attached picture. Especially in the older cars, these should be able to slide much more progressively and naturally than we are currently able. However, once you do start to correct, the car snaps back to full grip again very quickly. It will often snap without any warning, and once you've broken traction, there is way too little grip, and the car will go into a very abrupt spin unless you are very quick on the correction. ![]() First off all there seems to be too much overall grip like 10-20% but the way it drops off when you exceed a certain slip angle is just way too aggressive, especially at the rear (on RWD). ![]() My feel is that the tyres are too 'peaky' in their grip. I feel like the tyre physics are still strange / off, although better than DR2.0, i think could still be massively improved.
